Shortly after attending Boston Architectural College for her master’s in interior design, Taniya’s design style and upbeat personality landed her first television gig on ABC Family’s Knock First. Since then, Taniya has made a household name for herself by appearing on HGTV, Food Network, The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC’s Good Morning America & The View, and as a regular guest on Rachael Ray. In 2005, Taniya started her own design firm, Taniya Nayak Design LLC, and has developed an impressive range of clientele, from restaurants to condo developments, to high end residential including Back Bay Harry’s, Abby Lane, Central, The Poynt, Tavern & Table, Bostonia Public House, several new Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse locations, and the new construction home of Bruin’s Patrice Bergeron. Taniya continues to support the BAC and its mission as a proud employer of BAC students, in addition to sitting on the Interior Architecture Advisory Committee.
We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Howard Elkus. He was an avid supporter of the BAC’s mission to provide any student the opportunity to pursue the dream of studying design.
Howard Elkus is an internationally acclaimed architect and urban designer responsible for the design of numerous widely acknowledged landmark projects during his distinguished career. Since co-founding Elkus Manfredi Architects in 1988, and previously as a principal of The Architects Collaborative, Howard’s work has consistently broken new ground with diverse project types from single buildings to urban master plans on a grand scale. With partner David Manfredi, he has built a major national practice around his dedication to the value of place-making and community-building. Since 2009, Howard has been a generous philanthropic supporter of the Boston Architectural College, serving as an Overseer for several years before joining the Board of Trustees in 2015.
